Melinda was raising her four children first, but then she decided to go back to school to finish what she started about 10 years earlier. She graduated from Bryant & Stratton College in 2018 with an Associate’s degree in Accounting. She did an internship at a non-profit in Troy, took on a job at West Mountain as the back-office manager, only for a short time, because she kept in contact with the people at the non-profit and eventually, in 2019, the CFO & Controller asked if she was interested in a Staff Accountant position. She happily took that job, gained some practical experience, but sadly during the pandemic, she stopped working there. In 2021 she started doing some light bookkeeping for a friend (past instructor at B&S) who owned a small restaurant which she bravely opened during the pandemic, it was only as needed, but she wasn’t getting enough practical experience. However, with the help of her friend, she was hired by a woman who owned a small cleaning business in Saratoga which she is the Operations Manager of. This is how she met Sabrina!
